Boston Baby Beginnings is happy to offer free tours to registered patients delivering at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. The tour includes a visit to both Labor & Delivery and the Postpartum Unit and is recommended between 26-36 weeks of pregnancy. For your convenience, you may view the BIDMC Maternity Units in the comforts of your own home at  http://bidmc.org/obgyn (click on the teddy bear).

 

For the safety of the current patients, BIDMC requires anyone entering the unit(s) be accompanied by a tour guide specialist. With this in mind, please review the following information before scheduling your hospital tour:

• Anyone arriving late will need to reschedule
• It is recommended you tour the unit AFTER you have completed your Childbirth class(es)
• If the Labor & Delivery Unit is full, you will tour the Postpartum unit only
• The main objective of the tour is to provide basic information about the units themselves. All medical questions must be addressed by your Obstetrician
• Future patients are welcome on the units during tour hours only, private tours are not permitted

Note: Siblings may tour the Postpartum Unit only.

Note: For the safety of the current mothers and babies at BIDMC, please postpone your tour if you or any member of your family has been exposed to a cold, cough or flu-like symptoms. The tour guides will screen all visitors prior to the start of each tour.

Parking: Discounted parking is available for those parked in the Feldberg garage or Carl Shapiro Clinical Center garage for 2 (or more) hours.
